Day 9 of 30 Days of Biking

Today's ride was rather low key -- slow, flat, and easy along the Sammamish River and Burke Gilman Trails. My legs just weren't in the mood for fighting with hills today.

Kent Peterson's recent blog post about historic Red Brick Road in Redmond inspired me to visit another lesser section of historic cobblestones.

There's not much left to this old section of road, but apparently it played an interesting part in Seattle history.

Slightly further along the trail I came across some Smurf-blue trees:

These are part of a series of exhibits featured around the Seattle area.

Another trend I've noticed around here is colorful knitted tree cozies, but I'll save those for another day.
